Parenting a First-Year Student

College is a time of transition for students and their families. UNC Chapel Hill aims to make that transition as smooth as possible by communicating with the parents of new Carolina students through Parents Programs– your office on campus. Family Weekend – A perfect time for the first visit to campus. Family Weekend, which is usually held in late-September or early-October, always proves to be a blast.

Email Listservs - Parent Programs aims to keep you informed about upcoming deadlines, campus events, and more through our listservs. Make sure to sign up to receive these valuable e-mails!

Carolina Family Magazine This magazine is mailed out to every family of an undergraduate student once a semester. It includes a more in-depth look at departments, events, and student opportunities across campus. A must-read for the parents of any UNC Chapel Hill student!
