Any time a parent contributes to the Carolina Parents Fund it directly and immediately benefits your student and in some cases, you! The Parents Fund enriches the campus environment by supporting important programs, services and student projects.

Last year, Carolina Parents generously contributed more than $170,000, which was used to support many programs and initiatives. Below are a few programs that have directly benefited from the Parents Fund. We appreciate your continued support and generosity.

Carolina Family Newsletter through Parent Programs
The parents of every undergraduate student (more than 16,000 households) receive this publication each semester. It features many great articles on departments, events, and opportunities across campus. Without your support of the Parent Fund, our office could not afford to keep you informed!

Parent Handbook publication through Parent Programs
The Parent of first-year and transfer students receive this invaluable guide during summer orientation. The annually-updated version is also available online.

Career Services
Grant money from Parents Fund and the Parent Council Grant Fund supported the development of Optimal Resume, a Web-based system students can use to create professional resumes appropriate for job and internship applications.

The Writing Center
Funds provided money for the Online Tutor. This system gives an alternative method for students to get feedback on papers when they cannot attend walk-in hours.

Center for Healthy Student Behaviors
Funding provides a bi-monthly newspaper column in the Daily Tar Heel that informs students of health topics geared to their lifestyles. This program is part of the Healthy Campus 2010 initiative.

Choose your method of payment and make sure to designate the gift to Student Affairs - Parent Fund near the bottom of the designation list. Please designate any matching gifts if your employer does so.
