Lake Norman Carolina Student Send-Off Cruise
The Lake Norman Carolina Club, the Office of New Student & Caorlina Parent Programs and the General Alumni Association invite all alumni, parents and students to a student send-off cruise aboard the Yachta Yachta Yachta. The cruise will depart at 2 p.m. from the Lake Norman Peninsula Yacht Club and last for approximately 3 hours. We'll plan to anchor for swimming along the way; dress appropriately. Admission is free to local rising UNC first-year students and their parents. Boarding for all other guests and local alumni is $25 per person. We will ask the freshmen families to bring a covered dish to share. There will be a cash bar, including frozen drinks and virgin drinks for sale for those under 21.

Driving Directions: From Charlotte, take I-77 to exit 28 - Highway 73, head west 1.5 miles, then turn right on Jetton Road to The Peninsula. Follow Jetton Road until it turns into a two-lane road. A short distance farther about 2.5 miles on Jetton you will see Harbor Light Blvd. on the Left. Turn onto Harbor Light Blvd. and the Yacht Club will be about a quarter mile on your right. The Boat will be on the last Dock (M) to the Left as you are facing the water.

Carolina Summer Send-Off and Intimidators Outing
The Cabarrus/Rowan Carolina Club, the Office of New Student & Caorlina Parent Programs and the General Alumni Association invite all alumni, parents and students to a cookout and Intimidators baseball game and the opportunity to meet and congratulate the new UNC students from our area.
The pre-game picnic will include hot dogs, hamburgers and all the sides. We'll have reserved seats for the game, which will be followed by a fireworks display. All incoming and current UNC students plus one family member may attend at no cost. All others please pay $5.

We hope that you will come and join us and enjoy the evening with some delicious ice cream, hear the Starfish Bungalow Band perform and meet and mingle with Chase Jones, a catcher and student manager for the 2009 Tar Hell baseball team that went to the College World Series, plus some other special guests. Bring your camera as our own UNC Ramses mascot will be there to greet you.

Watauga & Ashe Counties Carolina Summer Send-Off
The Office of New Student & Carolina Parent Programs, the General Alumni Association and the UNC Parents Association, invite all first-year and transfer students, along with their parents from the Watauga County area to a Carolina Summer Send-Off. Please join your hosts for a pot luck social. Drinks and ice cream will be provided. Guests are encouraged and welcome to bring other treats as well. Bring clothes for creek play if desired (old sneakers, tubes, towels and a change of clothes).
Our newest Tar Heels will have the opportunity to connect with their fellow classmates and other Carolina students and alumni before heading to Chapel Hill. Parents will get to meet other area families to exchange information and learn more about Carolina.

Wayne County Carolina Student Send-Off Barbecue
The Wayne County Carolina Club, the UNC General Alumni Association,
