Welcome

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Carolina Parents Web site … the online version of YOUR office on campus!

The Office of New Student & Carolina Programs, within the Division of Student Affairs, makes it a priority to provide new members of the Carolina Family with a warm welcome into the community. We are here to support you and your student during the time of transition and throughout their time at UNC.

Our office provides a link between your home and campus to help connect you and your student’s goals and objectives with the reality of college life and learning. The office introduces new students and their families to the University’s broad educational opportunities, policies and procedures to assist students in their academic success and retention while fostering a feeling of belonging to the Carolina community. We also provide programs, services, and communications venues, for the benefit of all undergraduate parents and families to be appropriately involved in their students’ college experience.

By partnering together, we can help make your student’s career at Carolina as successful as possible. We seek to be your voice at the University, and hope that you will come to recognize us as YOUR office on campus. Realizing the important role that families play in the lives of their students throughout the college experience, we want to help you by inviting you to communicate with our office staff and participating in our programs. We encourage you to participate in parent and family activities and become an active member in the Carolina Parents Association by volunteering on campus or in your local area, joining the leadership arm of the Association – the Parents Council, or by supporting the Carolina Parents Fund.

Do not hesitate to call or e-mail us with questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you at many events.

Sincerely,
The Office of New Student & Carolina Parent Programs
